Dr. Angela S. Coaxum-Young, Founder & CEO

angDr. Angela S. Coaxum-Young is a highly sought out educational leader. She is the founder and visionary of Favor Academy of Excellence, Inc. Angela has spent a lifetime championing the cause of education for underprivledged populations. Her goals are to make accessible high-quality academic programs for at-risk students.

Angela began her educational studies at Bethune-Cookman University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She continued her studies and earned a Masters in Education with a concentration in management of educational programs from Nova Southeastern University. Next, she pursued her Specialist credential in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. Angela then went on to attain her Doctorate of Education from Georgia Southern University. During her tenure in the field of education, she has worked at various levels to include, middle school social studies teacher, high school exceptional education instructor, Director of Student Support, (ensuring programs for TAG, ESOL, SWD, and ELL were implemented with fidelty), Academy Coordinator and Assistant Principal. She continues to work with students of all ages and ability levels.

Angela is also a national conference speaker, committed to educating professionals all over the United States on developing sustainable and beneficial programs to support youth at-risk of dropping out of school. Her previous conference presentations include: The National Youth At-Risk Conference, The National Drop-out Prevention Campaign, The Albama Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, etc. Angela currently serves as a member of Emory University's C-CHEM Stakeholder Advisory Board. She has an unwavering belief that economic status has no bearing on a student's growth potential. ALL students should have access to quality educational programs!


Teen Parent Program
Favor Academy of Excellence, Inc. supports teenage mothers and fathers through our specifically designed curriculum. Students are supoorted academically as they earn their high school diploma or GED and transition into college, the military and/or a fulfilling career. The program is free to join.
FAE Tutoring Center
FAE Tutoting Center provides quality educational programs and resources to at-risk students in high-needs communities. With education as the foundation of all our works, we will promote growth and sustainability in communities with economic disadvantages.
Enviro-ME Symposium
The Enviro-ME Symposium is designed to educate teenage mothers about the environmental influences that may affect the health of their child(ren) or themselves. Researchers from Emory University have teamed up with FAE to ensure students gain access to current environmental health resource information through innovative and hands-on learning experiences.
